Hi all,
It’s been a while since the o’l ES has done much of anything so I thought I’d give you a bit of a status update. While the site is quiet, behind the scenes we’ve been working on updates to several products. Bookit 3.6 beta is almost ready for prime time and will be posted to our site as soon as this week. Maquarium also has a modest update in a holding pattern which should be out by mid December. We also have an ‘all new’ small project in the wings but more on that some other day. 🙂
Lastly, we have a complete rewrite of ClipEdit finishing up development. That is the last program we offer that is still written in the crusty REALbasic. Watching ClipEdit become more buggy and more buggy running on every new OS release (REALbasic applications have this tendency IMHO) with no way to fix the bugs was too much for the heart to bear. Spurring us on from another direction was the Apple Intel announcement. All our applications will be universal binaries, with ClipEdit written with an old version of REALbasic updating it would not possible. We either had to put it out to pasture or rewrite it in Cocoa. I’m glad to say with a couple days of proof-of-concept coding we decided it was feasible to go ahead with a rewrite. We’ve been working on it between Bookit and Maquarium so it’s been going at a modest pace, but it’s wrapping up nicely and should be out before any Intel Mac hits the streets.
I also have lowered the asking prices on my iPods listed below. Check it out and drop me a line if you are the only person on this earth that doesn’t have an iPod yet and want to buy one from yours truly. 🙂
cheers, will
